Paul Kellett

Mixed Media & Painting

Paul Kellett works in mixed media — oil, cold wax, acrylic on panel and canvas — producing work that sits at the edge of expressionist abstraction. His subjects are landscape, geology, the surface of feeling. The work is physical: built up in layers, scraped back, re-worked. Titles are laconic or referential, never explanatory.

He shows at Studiopolis Studio 210, in the historic Northrup King Building in Minneapolis. His paintings are collected internationally.

I paint connection. My work is inspired by the intricate energy that unites all life. Through vibrant street art motif and abstract expressionism, I explore the balance of opposing forces, capturing raw emotions and diverse perspectives with bold colors, dynamic forms and words of connecting and uplifting resonance.

I delve into themes of interdependence, and how chaos and order coexist to create harmony. My paintings embody the power of change and the forces that shape our lives, communities, and the world. The flowing forms suggest that even in uncertainty, deeper connections persist.

I invite viewers to embrace the complexities of their experiences and foster a greater understanding of our shared journey toward acceptance and unity.
