I hand-painted this oak barrel for Winefest: A Toast to Children's Health, a silent auction benefiting the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. The explosion of color owes its spirit to Prague’s John Lennon Wall, a living mural of free speech and non-violent defiance born of Czechoslovak youth. Layered among the sprays and drips, the opening lines of Lennon’s Imagine—a quiet anthem for universal unity—curl across the curved staves, inviting every viewer to dream the same dream.
